The Special Education Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is made up of parents and community members who work with the SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area) on behalf of children who receive special education services in Tuolumne County. The CAC role is defined in the California Education Code 56190 and includes, but is not limited to the following:
·assisting in parent education
·supporging activities on behalf of individuals with exceptional needs
·recommending annual priorities or focus for the SELPA
·providing input to the Tuolumne SELPA Local Plan revisions
The purpose of this committee is to meet other parents and community members who are interested in special education, to become informed about the Special Education process, to learn about available programs and services, and to provide input regarding decisions that impact Special Education in our county.
The CAC meets at the Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools Office at 175 S. Fairview Lane in Room 217. Childcare is available, provided by a trained staff member. To contact us, please call 209-536-2040.
